With more than 13,000 photographs, maps, books and over 300,000 records cross-referenced to Glen Innes Examiner newspaper articles, Government Gazettes etc., our Research Centre is a valuable resource for those people compiling family and local histories. We can help you track your individual or family history in the district back to the 1800s.
To access resources it is easiest if people can come to the Museum and help with the research. For this an appointment is preferred. Please, if possible, bring a USB, digital camera and copies of your own research.
Of course not everybody can get to Glen Innes and in this case a Request for Research Form is available here. Once we have received your request we will reply to let you know if we have any information in the system and how much it will cost to extract it. Upon payment we will forward firstly copies of the relevant index cards for people to peruse and decide if they would like copies of any of the records recorded on the card and if so we will extract them and forward them either in hard copy or on USB.
