Emmaville’s own Olympian, Debbie Wells, will be at The Land of the Beardies History House Museum on Saturday September 10 to open the Costume Room’s new ‘Sporting Memorabilia’ exhibition.

Known Australia-wide as the Emmaville Express, Debbie represented Australia at the 1976 Montreal, 1980 Moscow and 1984 Los Angeles Olympics making her one of only a handful of Australian track and field triple Olympians.

The exhibition includes some of Debbie’s Olympics memorabilia as well as other sporting memorabilia from the Museum’s collection.

Everyone is invited, especially sporting groups, and we ask that anyone who was in the Torch Relay in Glen Innes or who volunteered at the Sydney Olympics to come in their uniform.

Entry is from 4pm and is $10 for adults, free for children under 16 and for those over 16, $1. There will be refreshments and a raffle. The museum will also be open all day from 9am.

If you would like any further information please either email us at museum@gleninneshistory.com.au or phone (02) 6732 1035.

All welcome!
